The UX team were starting their Design System journey to provide a single source of truth to UX UI designers and UI developers.
My role was to lead, design and build the project.
A future-facing front-end framwork was required.
The system had to meet the needs of all users - mostly designers and UI developers.
The Solutions
I led CoP meetings with designers and developers to discuss and decide on the required features to meet the needs of all users then select the suitable frameworks to build the site on.
Designing the architecture and validating with testing such as treejacking and CoP reviews.
UX co-design of the page structure and components.
UI development pairing to build the system.
The Outcomes
Angular framework for a modular and agile way to update the system.
Working demos of each component with code snippets for quick use.
Search tool with generic component names for all users to quickly source the correct component.
Guide rails information with examples of use and accessibility references to complete the production-ready requirements.
